Dr. Keita Vanterpool
“Overcoming adversity through gratitude and determination, Dr. Keita Vanterpool’s journey from a Lupus diagnosis to a leader in holistic wellness is nothing short of inspiring. International Wellness Ambassador, Consultant, Speaker, Chiropractor, Regulatory authority, Motivator, Inventor, Patient advocate, and Mentor, Dr. Vanterpool embodies expertise in health and wellness, fueled by a passion for educating the public on a diverse array of topics. These encompass topics ranging from diversity, equity, inclusion, implicit bias, regulation, ethics and boundaries, lifestyle adjustments, nutrition, fitness, stress management, to ergonomics and chronic disease control.
Diagnosed with Lupus in her early years and having faced near-death experiences, and almost losing her legs, Dr. Vanterpool relied on her steadfast faith in God, determination, and resilience to triumph over numerous health obstacles. She extols the benefits of simple lifestyle modifications, a testament to their capacity to enhance one’s quality of life.
As the architect of CHIROKEI Consulting, LLC, Dr. Vanterpool and her team extend health and wellness programs and demonstrations to both corporate and non-corporate entities. Notably, she pioneered a lifestyle modification class for a senior residential community, substantially improving the health outcomes of many residents.
Dr. Vanterpool earned her B.S. in Biology/Pre-Medicine from Elizabeth City State University and her Doctor of Chiropractic from Life University in Marietta, GA. A distinguished regulatory authority and policy influencer, she serves as the Chair of the Washington, DC Board of Chiropractic and holds the distinction of being the first African American woman and first elected as an official and Vice President on the Federation of Chiropractic Licensing Board (FCLB), as well as the first African American woman Director on the National Board of Chiropractic Examiners (NBCE).
Within the National Board of Chiropractic Examiners (NBCE), Dr. Vanterpool actively participated in the testing and standard-setting committees, alongside her role as an examiner, and has served on the test committee for the Ethics and Boundaries Assessment Services (EBAS).
